As we are nearing the end of 2021, now is the perfect time to take a look at your dental care and checkups to see how you can maximize your insurance benefits. Reasons to Schedule a Dental Appointment Before the Year Ends
- Insurance Deductible: Your insurance deductible is a fixed amount you may be required to pay out of pocket before your plan starts to cover costs. Every plan has a different deductible so heading to the dentist when your deductible is already met will save you money. With most plans, your deductible starts over at the beginning of every year. Take advantage and don’t wait to schedule your end-of-the-year appointments!
- Annual Maximums: Most dental plans have an annual maximum pay out and after that amount is is reached, the plan will provide no additional benefit until the benefit period resets at the beginning of a new year. If you know you have treatment that’s needed and you haven’t reached your annual cap, the end of the year is a great time to take advantage of the annual reset.
- Possible Fee Increases:With every new year, you run the risk of a fee increase or coverage decrease with your current plan. There is a ton of uncertainty when it comes to insurance companies adjusting their fees every year.
